Man dies after escaping blaze

A man has died after escaping from a fire at a flat.

The man, who was in his 50s, managed to get out of the flat in Montrose's Western Road as the blaze took hold.

Tayside Police said the fire was quickly extinguished, but the man died while being treated outside by ambulance staff.
