Water bosses defend pay packets

Scottish Water chiefs have defended having the highest pay in the public sector.

Four directors of the firm earned a minimum of £229,000 last year, Labour's Des McNulty told Holyrood's Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change Committee.

Chief executive Richard Ackroyd has a basic annual salary of £263,000 - with potential bonuses taking this up to £368,000.
