Meeting over health job losses fear

The Finance Secretary has met managers at a healthcare company after proposals to close two UK facilities with significant job losses.

John Swinney had talks with senior managers at MSD in Newhouse, Lanarkshire, to explore options to protect employment in the area.

MSD announced earlier this month that it planned to shut its research site in Newhouse and its distribution centre in Mildenhall, Suffolk.
