Three killed in 'wrong way' crash

Two 19-year-old women and an elderly man have died following a head-on crash after the pensioner apparently drove the wrong way up a road near a seaside town.

An 18-year-old woman who was in the same car as the teenagers was seriously injured.

The accident happened on the A78 northbound carriageway close to the Meadowhead Roundabout near Troon, Ayrshire, at around 10.50pm on Tuesday.
