Unesco selects Scottish treasures

A collection of Scotland's most valuable cultural treasures is going on display throughout the world as part of a new website.

The country's earliest surviving book and maps from the sixteenth century were among four items selected for a Unesco website which catalogues important heritage artefacts.

A film of the last days of habitation on St Kilda and documents outlining the demise of the country's aspirations to create an empire were also selected for the Memory of the World Register.
