The incident took place at about 7pm on Friday, April 20. Police officers have issued a description of the man responsible for the attack. He is between 17 and 19 years old, 5’10” tall, of slim build, and was wearing a dark tammy-style hat, and had a light-blue scarf covering his mouth when he unleashed his assault on the pensioner.
Eight days earlier, a 78-year-old woman who was walking to her car parked outside Morrison’s supermarket had her handbag stolen. Perth police have now traced and charged a man for the second incident.
But anyone with information which may assist officers with their enquiries into the assault of the elderly man is urged to get in touch with Tayside Police in Perth on (01738) 621141.
