Kinross lose the Friendship Shield

FIGHTERS from the Kinross Boxing Academy showed their mettle at a recent gala event.

The aspiring Big County talents took centre stage in a three-way contest at the Windlestrae Hotel which also involved Bolton and the Isle of Man.

Club secretary Andy Caulfield said the tournament was “hard fought”, with Bolton narrowly edging out the homesters 5-3.

“This was the first time in four years that the Friendship Shield has left Kinross,” he told PA Sport.

“Kinross will have to wait until the return match later next season for another chance.”

Boxing legend Dick McTaggart presented a trophy bearing his name to KBA’s stylist of the year Dave Nelson.
