Volleyball: Top two in league take home the points

SUNDAY evening's Recreational Volleyball League games saw the top two win their games, setting things up for the final two rounds.

Innes Penman fielded an under strength side against Claire Young's Mongrels for the opening game but  still won 25–15, 25–20. Ian McGrath's Motley Crew took on Anne Condliffe's Tay Pearls on court two. The first set  saw Crew win 25–19. In the second set the clock ran out with Crew leading 24–20.

Rodney's Trotters followed up their opening win with another two sets to love victory against Motley Crew. Meanwhile Tay Pearls played Jackson Brown's Kinross BBGA and the Pearls' experience saw them run out easy winners winning both sets 25–10.

Second place Scotrange II opened their evening's fixtures against Stuart Anderson's Hitting Bricks and Kat Thomson's Kinross side finished on top 25–16, 25–12. Mary Cook's Aberfeldy played Motley Crew with Annette McBride leading the Crew to an early first set lead. Feldy  levelled at 19 all before taking the set 25–20. The second set saw Aberfeldy win25–20.

Kevan McShea's See Me played their first game against Mongrels with See Me winning both sets 25-19. Aberfeldy beat Dunfermline  25-16, 25-14. Second played third next on court two when Scotrange II met Rodney's Trotters. In a close game the Kinross side just edged victory 25-17, 25-19. John Booth's league leaders, Kinross BB played their first game of the evening against Dunfermline and John Booth's BB had a comfortable win 25-14, 25-5. The Kinross side followed this up with  win against Kinross BBGA 25–20.

The final game of the evening on court two turned out to be the most exciting game of the evening. See Me won the first set 25–18 against Hitting Bricks but Bricks fought back to level the game winning the second set 25–20. In the third with one minute remaining Bricks were leading 11–9. It was fair that it finished 11-11.
