Blair Castle International Horse Trials

RESULTS from this year’s highly successful Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair which attracted a record-breaking crowd of 44,878, an increase on last year of some 5000 people:

Horse Trials: CCI one-star: 1 Neil Spratt, New Zealand (Solo Voyage); 2 Patricia Ryan, Ireland (Ballylynch Adventure); 3 Sarra Mayberry, GB (Hownam Law).

CCI two-star: 1 William Fox-Pitt, GB (Bee Animas); 2 and 3 Andrew Nicholson, New Zealand (Epic and Nereo).

CCI three-star: 1 William Fox-Pitt (Macchiato); 2 Lucy Wiegersma, GB (Woodfalls Pure Gold); 3 Andrew Nicholson (Ginger May Killingshurst). Rose Macpherson, originally from the Crieff area, was 17th with Golden Needle, going clear across country but incurring 16 show-jumping penalties.

Young Riders’ European Championships, Team: 1 Great Britain; 2 Switzerland; 3 Germany. Individual: 1 Sabrina Mertens, Germany (Divolo; 2 Nicola Wilson, GB (Oingy Boingy; 3 Emily Galbraith, GB (Crown Alliance).
