LAST weekend’s Strathmore Union Division 1 fixture at home to Dalnacraig was another victim of this season's Saturday rainfall.
The turning weather conditions made Sunday's friendly at home to St Andrews University Staff as first piece of action for some time.
The home side batted first on a very slow pitch and scored 208-7 with contributions right through the order.
This included an unbeaten 36 from Alistair Mearns.
The visitors were never really in the hunt and finished on 127-6 with Paul Tramontanas getting a rare outing as a bowler as he returned figures of 4-18.
This weekend, Strathearn will hope that the weather gods relent to allow play on both days.
Tomorrow. they will make the short trip to face Coupar Angus at Larghan Park in Division 1.
Players are asked to meet Doo'cot car park at midday.
On Sunday, the Strathearn XI are guests of Mayfield in Division 2, with players meeting at Doo'cot at 12.15pm.
Two junior fixtures – both for the U-15s – are planned for next week with a trip to face Dunfermline on Monday evening.
On Wednesday, Freuchie are the hosts.
