PERTH Road Runners celebrated their 25th anniversary by holding a running weekend on the back of great results at the Ceres eight-mile race.
One of the members enjoyed success in one of Scotland's toughest races.
The club held its running weekend at Kinloch Rannoch, which gave the members a chance to run a variety of distances as well as some cycling and water sports and to ‘let their hair down’ at a barbecue.
Ruth Crewe enjoyed success at the inaugural Two Inns race from Creagan to Glencoe on Saturday.
The race, which raises money for two local mountain rescue teams, is 15 miles long and just over 5000ft of climbing.
The conditions looked favourable although the last mile was over rough, boggy and challenging ground.
Ruth was first woman home in 4hrs 1min.
More members may take part next year and follow on from Ruth's success.
Meanwhile, 10 members headed for Ceres last Thursday to take part in the eight mile race there, the penultimate race of the Summer Series. Kevin Judge was first PRR to complete the hilly course in 50mins 59secs – 17th overall.
Grant Wooler and Colin McCreath followed and crossed the line at the same time in 55.10.
Grant Strachan wasn't far behind in 56.23, Simon Grieshaber 57.19 and Kenneth Stewart 57.28. Helen MacLeod was first PRR female home in 61.06 just ahead of Bill Lawson in 61.23, Bob Brown came in at 62.05 and Rhona McBean 62.11.
The club expect a large turnout of PRR at the Perth 10k which also forms part of the club championship.
A few contenders are up for glory.
