A TRIO of members from Perth Sailing Club enjoyed good conditions on the Tay during a recent race meeting.

Collin Fullerton, crewed by Paul Enyon in their new Albacore, was the first to reach the windward mark.

All three boats found it hard to tack against wind and tide. On the second round the gaps between the Albacores of Collin and Robin MacArthur began to pull away from Bill Inches’s Firefly.

By the third round, Robin had managed to hold his lead to cross the line first.

The appearance of two ships – one incoming and the other outgoing – at the start of the first race caused confusion.

The Albacores of Patrick and Robin, and Bill in his Firefly, took advantage of the disruption and broke away from Collin and Paul.

On the third round, the wind increased and was quite gusty as the boats headed for the finish line, with Patrick and Robin taking first place, followed by Bill, with Collin and Paul finishing third.

RESULTS (after handicap): Race 1 – 1 Cordon Bleu (R MacArthur and P Dalgety), 2 Albacore (C Fullerton and P Enynon), 3 Glencoe (Bill Inches).

Race 2 – 1 Cordon Bleu (P Dalgety and R MacArthur), 2 Glencoe (B Inches), 3 Albacore (C Fullerton and P Eynon).
