KINROSS athlete Cameron Milne recently competed at Hetton Lyons Country Park near Sunderland, in the final of the British Triathlon Junior Super Series, writes Gordon Bannerman.
Going into the race Cameron was in third place and required a podium finish to come at least second in the series.
Unfortunately, he slipped to 12th place after a really difficult run, leaving him 5th overall in the series. Cameron now goes into winter training more determined than ever to have a successful upcoming season.
He is a member of the Jaguar Academy of Sport Rising Stars who continue to receive valuable support through the Mentoring and Education Programme.
The most recent workshop was held at Leeds Metropolitan University and was hosted by the former World Champion and Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador Jessica Ennis.
Cameron is one of nine athletes on the Triathlon Scotland Development squad.
He has been identified as an athlete who has proven his potential to develop towards being a senior elite triathlete.
Teenage talent Cameron has committed to training 18 hours a week based at the Scottish High Performance Centre in Stirling.
Last year he won the British Youth Championships and is a member of the British Olympic Talent Squad.
Cameron will be chasing a spot in the GB team for Rio 2016 and beyond.
