Perthshire Ladies in fighting spirit

THE Ladies’ Indoor side was the only team in action last Sunday when they travelled to DISC to play their final set of pre-Christmas matches, with only seven in the squad.

In the first game, Perthshire beat bottom club Quasar, fairly convincingly 5–2 and then they were up against top side Haddington.

Shire were down 7–3 at half time, but unfortunately only pulled it back to 7–6 by the end.

It was a great fight back, but the team should really have come away with maximum points.

Noelle Duncan played particularly well in goal.

The team is now third on seven points, a point behind Kelburne II and two behind leaders Haddington. Their next set of matches is on Sunday, January 11, at Bell's Coaching Hall.

The ladies section restarts training in the Bell's Sports Centre on Tuesday, January 6, from 7.30–9pm.

And the men get-together the following day in the Auchterarder School games hall from 7.30–9.30pm. Outdoor training at Strathallan School commences on February 4.

Men's 2nd and 3rd outdoor team players are asked to note that due to all the recent cancelled matches the league has been rescheduled to start on Saturday, January 17 and thereafter every weekend to April 5.

As has become customary, there will be a Mixed Boxing Day game starting at 1pm at Auchterarder. Anyone old and young is invited along; simply turn up midday at the Cherrybank Inn car park for a lift or at the pitch side about 12.30. U18's will be charged £2 and adults £3.
