Bridge of Earn bowlers see in the new year

MORE than 40 members of Bridge of Earn Bowling Club, along with friends, held an excellent Hogmanay party to see in 2009, which is their 150th anniversary season.

They all then took part in a drawing to the jack bowls competition, despite it being -4C! The winner was Michael Nicol, the 2008 club champion.

Early in the evening, Mrs Doreen Nicholson, wife of committee member Eddie Nicholson, handed over a visitors’ book to record all the visitors to the club in 2009 to president David Galletly.

The club is continuing its fund-raising activities with a malt whisky tasting on Saturday, January 24.
