After mixed fortunes recently at the Scottish novice championships three members of the Perth Railway boxing club travelled to Inverurie to take part in the Northern novice championships. In the final of the 75kg weight Zack Fummey came up against David Urbitis from Aberdeen Uni ABC. From the opening bell Zack pursued his opponent round the ring and never stopped ‘til the bell sounded for the end of the round. This continued in the second round with Zack landing with cleaner punches forcing his opponent to turn away several times. After about a minute the referee stopped the bout and Zack was declared the champion.
