IN an entertaining West District Cup final at Brownlands Park, Deans rose unchallenged to head Auchterarder into the lead.

Bridge of Earn were level by the break as a rash challenge in the box resulted in Hope firing home a penalty.

Auchterarder always looked the more likely to sneak a winner as extra-time loomed but were unlucky going close a couple of times.

The tie did come to life in extra-time after a dismissal of a Brig player for a second bookable offence and McDonald to head home before Boyle brought his team back level.

The eventual winner came from Brig Captain Phil Zeiba after a good save by the keeper from a free header at a corner a second header looped onto the bar falling kindly at the feet of Zeiba to seal glory.

In the Atholl Cup final Star opened the scoring through a Morrison free-kick to lead 1-0 at half-time.

Ballinluig equalised through Fraser, before Morrison got his second approaching 90 minutes and Star looked like holding on, with only a couple of minutes remaining Hausrath forced extra-time.

Ballinluig took the lead in overtime through a good individual goal from Fraserbut Star drew level again through Muirhead sending the tie into penalties. Star went on to win 3-2 to clinch the Cup.

Letham booked their Ashleigh Cup final spot at the expense of an injury-hit Breadalbane as Smith grabbed the only goal of the game.

Results (May 13): West District Cup final at Brownlands Park – Bridge of Earn 3, Auchterarder Primrose 2 (aet).

Atholl Cup final – Ballinluig 2, Star of Atholl 3 (aet; Star won 3-2 on penalties).

Ashleigh Cup semi finals – Letham 1, Breadalbane 0.
