Letham Amateurs back from behind

LETHAM Amateurs (sponsored by The Welcome Inn): Dundee visitors Menzieshill opened the scoring midway through the first half.

The Tangerines took the reverse in their stride and scored two good goals before the break.

Despite the terrible weather conditions, the home team kept trying to play on the ground football and their play was rewarded with a third goal.

Menzieshill scored again fifteen minutes from the end to keep their hopes alive.

However in the closing minutes, Letham secured their place in the next round by scoring a fourth goal.

This was not to the pleasing of the visiting goalkeeper who got himself sent off.

Free day tomorrow, players meet at sponsors, Rannoch Road at 2pm.

Letham Lads (sponsored by Stagger Inn): Sandy's lads shook Dundee cracks Barnhill in the Scottish Cup tie played at Monifieth.

Two early goals by the home team looked as if it was an early exit.

However their fast attacking play stretched Barnhill and the Lads brought it back to all square at the interval.

A major shock was denied when the more powerful side scored early in the second half and their defence prevented Letham from equalising.
