Perthshire Amateurs round up Oct 10

ST John’s should consider themselves lucky to get a replay this week in the Scottish Cup. But they must be very strong favourites to do the job second time round.

Michelin will try to advance at the expense of Meigle who had their best chance last week.

The two remaining ties all involve Perthshire clubs. Firstly, The Brig will have the edge at home to Burrelton and extra- time looms for the battle of the Vales.

Roselea will be hoping to finally kick- off the defence of their title with a tricky trip to new boys Coupar Angus.

Letham United could cause an upset as Stanley will definitely struggle without the reliable goal-scoring feats of the injured Cargill.

Fairfield should secure maximum points over bottom club Star of Atholl.

Villareal look to be living up to their claim they will win the Third Division this season and are bolstered by the engine of Wright on his return and should pick up full points over the Strath.

Something’s going give as the pointless pair of Kenmore and Errol go head to head, with the home club starting hot favourites.

Finally, a cracking derby could be on offer at Davie Park as both Rattray and Kettins look to kick-start their league challenge.

Good luck to the national team this weekend and all the Perthshire Amateur players en route to Hampden.
