Support expected at Auchterarder cup match

A BIG crowd is expected at Auchterarder as Fair City visit tomorrow in the North of Tay Cup in what should be a spicy affair.

League position dictates Burrelton will be strong favourites to advance over bottom club Star but both Rattray and Gateway will be hard one to call.

Vale of Earn are going well and would expect to be in the draw at the expense of Letham Lads’ Club, while Claypotts have a trip-and-a-half away to Comrie.

On league business, shock troops Bridge of Earn will have a strong test at Letham while both Coupar and Balmoral are both scratching for what will be three valuable points at the bottom.

The two league favourites clash as St John’s travel north to Breadalbane and Ballinluig come the other way to the Fair City to resume their grudge match with Roselea.

Both Alyth and Fairfield have promotion aspirations to battle out while a good win for Almondvale last week will see them start slight favourites over Thistle.

If Bridgeton find some form they could sneak away from Vale of Atholl with a win while Kinrossie will fear the worst over high-scoring Stanley, who have Cargill back in their ranks.

Letham Utd. have lost a few quality players this week and will struggle against Wolfhill who are always strong at home.

In Division Three, the game of the day is at Methven as Newtyle visit. Both teams are undefeated.

The Kulik era kicks off at Royale with a home tie against Kenmore and home form will see Meigle take three points from the Strath.

Finally, both title contenders Villareal and Letham Lads should take maximum points away to Errol and Kettins respectively.

LETHAM Amateurs (sponsored by the Welcome Inn): they were defeated in the North of Tay Cup in Dundee last week by Shamrock by two goals to one.

Tomorrow it is back to league business, with Bridge of Earn the visitors to Seven Acres. Meet clubhouse at 12.45pm.

Letham Lads (sponsored by Stagger Inn): The Lads restored club pride last week in the North of Tay Cup by defeating St Michaels by four goals to two.

In the first half facing a strong breeze the team did well to turn round at half time only one goal down.

With wind advantage the team's fast passing game was too much for the opposition.

Highlight of the game was a 35 yard free kick by James Ross which flew past the visiting keeper.

Tomorrow they have a very difficult league match at Kettins. Meet at sponsors 12.15pm.

Assistance with transport would be appreciated. Next Saturday there is a Fancy Dress Halloween party and all players are requested to attend. Special prize for the most imaginative outfit.
