A winter ‘wipe out’ for teams

THE new year certainly hasn’t got off to a good start – at least as far as the fixtures are concerned – as last Saturday’s were completely wiped out.

The pitches at the venues where there were games due to be played were rendered unplayable by the very wintry conditions that had prevailed for much of the week.

The season is now at what is recognised as being at its half way stage at least as far as league games are concerned.

But, in three of the leagues, this isn’t matched by the number of games played so far, only the north league is on target.
