Perthshire Amateurs round up Jan 27

ONLY six ties survived the unexpected hard frost at the weekend and unfortunately for Ballinluig their chances of advancing did not as Morgan Academy started the brighter in their North of Tay tie and commanded throughout to advance to the quarter finals.

In the Perth and District Cup there were expected home wins for the big guns as Letham triumphed after a late switch to the South Inch over Fairfield while along side that game Roselea showed their class out outshine Letham Lads.

In the west district cup, Auchterarder avoided a cup shock but were taken to extra time by a plucky Comrie Rovers. Goals from Proff, Wilson, Boyle and Walker ensured the win. Balmoral showed their first division class on a tricky tie away to Kinrossie in the Marshall cup sneaking through 3–1.

Finally, Errol had a fresh start with new temporary management in place but ended up with the same old result as Strathearn Grove bagged another three points and a happy trip back to Crieff.
