Kick off for the 2009 Coca-Cola 7s

THE first round of the Coca-Cola 7s, Scotland's largest schools football tournament, kicked off recently with 7,500 boys and girls from across Scotland competing for the chance to lift the prestigious Coca-Cola 7s trophy.

Now in its ninth year, the Coca-Cola sponsored Scottish Schools Football Association (SSFA) 7-a-side football tournament, which is open to U13 boys and U14 girls, will see teams from Perth and Kinross heading for McDiarmid Park on Wednesday, February 11.

It's not all about winning, but enjoying the game and being the best you can be. Every team taking part in the tournament will receive training from Hearts legend Gary Mackay and his team of coaches, who will be on hand to put players through a special football skills programme.

Participating schools: Crieff High School, Perth Grammar School, Pitlochry High, Kingussie High School, Perth Academy, Blairgowrie High, Perth High, St Columba’s, Breadalbane Academy.
