IN A dress rehearsal for the Ward and Cairns cup semi-final, Christies entertained Donskies, with Cutting called on to make a point blank save to keep the scores level early on.
It was an important stop considering Christies dominated the first half, hitting Donskies for six with out reply.
The second half was a dour affair and Christies ran out easy winners with doubles from Bell and top scorer Brown.
Current leaders Saints Club made short work of a seriously depleted Mondo on the South Inch running in an unlucky 13 with a solitary counter in response.
Man of the match Nicholson netted an early hat trick and dominated the middle of the park with solid assistance from Ward.
With new signing Thorne in the ranks, Abbotsford were at full strength after a late switch in their tie versus the Auld Hoose. The champions however laboured throughout parts of the game and although ran out easy winners they will need to be on top form this week as their closest challengers to their crown, Saints club come to play.
This is must win for both clubs as neither would want to lose their 100 per cent record and ground on their rivals. Saints are missing their influential captain Hutchison and will start slight underdogs.
Dunbarney will start favourites over Mondos and Badgers at home to the Rabbie Burns, both in the Ward and Cairns trophy.
On league duty Christies will look to continue their good run away to Auld Hoose and Half A Tanner, still smarting from their shock cup defeat to Donskies will be out for revenge in the league.
