Perthshire clubs compete in North of Tay Cup

GOOD luck goes out to the Perthshire clubs competing for a semi final spot in the North Of Tay Cup this week.

Vale of Earn start favourites at home to Dryburgh Athletic but will be conscious of their poor drop in recent form.

Fair City host Barnhill in what will definitely be a tight affair as home form might swing it, while Newtyle Hearts have the hardest task at they await the visit of NCR.

Bridgeton Utd will look to advance to a third round tie versus Breadalbane at the expense of their near neighbours Kenmore, while Breadalbane travel the short hop to Pitlochry to face the Vale.

On League duty Coupar Angus travel to leaders St Johns for their first meeting this season. Bridge are in good form but will find Ballinluig a tough nut to crack at home if they want to remain second, while Balmoral will travel to Auchterarder scratching for more points towards survival.

In the game of the day something has to give as Roselea host fierce rivals Letham on the South Inch.

A couple of crackers light up the second this week as the two favourites, Stanley and Burrelton, go head-to-head, while Fairfield entertain Almondvale.

Elsewhere, Alyth will look to capitalise on dropped points by overcoming Kinrossie.

Old rivals Wolfhill and Letham Utd pair up, with a draw a good bet, and Tay Thistle will hope to build on last week’s good win at bottom club Star.

Comrie Rovers host Kettins who’re still smarting from their shock defeat last week to Gateway, who have Methven in their sights this week. Perth Royale visit Rattray to make it two out of two, while Errol take the short hop to Meigle to try again for their first win. Letham Lads will be looking to rectify some shocking recent form on the road against Grove in Crieff.
