Langtoun’s power drives right through the Giants

PERTHSHIRE’S Prostar community Six-a-Side Superleague saw Langtoun Locomotiv enjoy a 5–0 victory against Glenburn Giants after confusion over their kick-off time meant Glenburn arrived late.

The fixture list issue was nobody’s fault really and it is possible that Glenburn and Locomotiv will have to replay the game before the season is over. Locomotiv will play for free after paying for last night’s fixture which did not go ahead.

Langtoun Forres Mechanics inflicted title favourites Where is Sophie’s first defeat of the season in stunning fashion.

The small army of spectators watching the game were stunned with everyone expecting Sophie to record their 14th straight victory, however Mechanics produced a brilliant performance to run out 5–3 winners.

Unathletic Madrid and Saints Utd did battle in what turned out to be a very keenly contested affair with little in the way of goalmouth action as both defences stood firm.

It was a single Madrid goal that separated the sides in the end.

Udineasy took on Earnvale Thistle in the final match of the night and were simply too strong for their opponents as they romped to a 4–0 success which lifts them up to sixth in the table.

League Secretary Paul Spacey commented, “I think everyone was shocked to see Sophie lose their first match of the season tonight, especially considering they have not really looked like being close to defeat in the past few weeks.

“It makes things a bit more interesting for the last six weeks of the season with Sophie still requiring a few victories to secure the title.”

There are two places available for teams to join the new Superleague Two starting soon.

Any new teams interested should get in touch with Prostar Leagues on 0870 3300888 or register online at www.eurosixes.com
