Perthshire AFA

And then there were none . . .

The only remaining Perthshire club in the Scottish cup fell at the fifth round hurdle on their travels to face Postal Utd, who had Anderson on fire on the day and could not match their opponents who Alyth expect will win their sixth round tie.

The first of a number of big games in the coming weeks threw up two title challengers as the Bally visited St Johns.

However, the scoreline mostly reflected a one sided affair as St Johns had no fewer than six different scorers, with Campbell netting a brace to trounce the current league leaders.

After a switch, Glenfarg travelled north to face Kenmore and returned victorious with a well deserved and comfortable win.

Roselea, with the return of Hutchison who was suspended last week, ran out easy winners against Methven, with Jackson the man of the match scoring a nap hand.

Not really much to say about the game as it was a bit of a mismatch on the day as was the Burrelton home tie versus Meigle, as the home club went that one goal better, recording double figures on the day.

Both the Swifts and Thistle met back in November and registered 10 goals, with eight going to the Swifts.

While the result was similar in that Swifts won again, the score was a lot closer as they dominated the first half with goals from McManus, Hope and a dodgy deflection off the Thistle keeper that Wheeler claimed.

In the battle of the Vales, it was home club Vale of Earn who defeated their visitors by a goal in each half to advance.

After a hefty defeat last week, Coupar Angus were boosted by the return of Dowser as manager and almost produced a shock at Breadalbane, falling just short by the odd goal in three after Flemming had level on the hour mark.

Rounding off the results, both Bridgeton and Craigie could not be separated after 90 minutes in their tie sharing four goal and regardless of the constitution they have decided to recast their fixture for Monday night to find a winner.

The monthly meeting is today from 7.30pm in the Luncarty Juniors Social Club.
