THE games will now come thick and fast with the midweek ties due to commence on April 7.

There remains a couple of fifth round North of Tay ties which see both Coupar Angus and Roselea on their travels to face Midlands opposition in the form of Arbroath and the Firies respectively.

In the quarter final, both St Johns and Alyth will renew their rivalry for a place in the semi final, both buoyed by the decision of the North of Tay disciplinary committee to recast their recent abandoned league tie, without a three point deduction. This will no doubt be a tense affair with both clubs at full strength, with one thought in the back of their mind about the final.

After most of the cup card was hit last week the fixtures are again similar and ties that stand out and will be worth watching are Comrie’s visit to Auchterarder Primrose, a local Marshall cup derby at Newtyle as title rivals Kettins come aknocking, while there are two intriguing league ties in the offing in the first division.

Title chasing Burrelton, recently depleted by a couple of key losses to their squad, face the daunting trip to the inform Balmoral while a win for Craigie at the Vale, will all but secure their status in the division for another season, resigning the Vale to an impending resignation.

In Division Two the Brig are desperate for points and have been training hard and will look for that much-needed victory on Saturday at home to Thistle; Letham Lads can fire themselves back in the title race if they can trump league leaders Fairfield.

The next monthly meeting is on Monday from 7.30pm at the Riverside clubhouse, Bute Drive, home of Jeanfield Swifts JFC.

A Perthshire select team will play their Midlands counterparts in a representative match on Tuesday at Foxhall Park, home of Coupar Angus JFC, with a 7.15pm kick off.
