THE first official round of one of the big all in cups kicks off this weekend with the prestigious Perthshire Cup and it serves up some pure crackers, including the first tie out the hat, drawn at the meeting by representatives of Jeanfield and St Johns, pairing both clubs.

Swifts are ever-improving and St Johns are faltering to find form so this should be interesting.

The only all Division One tie sees local rivals Alyth, take the short hop over to Balmoral, who will be smarting over last week’s league defeat. There are only a small handful of potential shocks on the cards, with the Bread at the Grove, Methven at home to Craigie and Wolfhill travelling to Auchterarder, but the best chance will go to Tay Thistle as they travel to Ballinluig, especially if McMahon in the Thistle goal continues his fine form, with a good penalty save last week.

With some Division Two ties filling out the card, Rattray can stretch their lead at the top, but will find it hard at Coupar and Vale of Atholl will be searching for their fist league points and the Earn come to town.
