KENNY Deuchar is set to bow out after tomorrow’s clash with Partick Thistle.

With Gretna toiling in the SPL and short of firepower, boss Davie Irons has made it clear Deuchar is back in his plans.

On that basis, the rejuvenated striker, however reluctantly, will be recalled to Raydale with his emergency loan ending.

Yesterday, Perth manager Derek McInnes made it clear he will be chasing Deuchar in the next few weeks. But right now he is more confident of securing Rocco Quinn from Celtic on a long-term deal.

McInnes stressed: “I have spoken to Kenny and we are really keen to resolve the situation. If we can’t get him now because of the rulebook we will be actively trying to bring him back during the transfer window.”

Yesterday, Deuchar received the PA Sport/George Wimpey player of the month accolade after his man of the match display against Dunfermline.
