MANY Perth fans are making for Hampden by train and First ScotRail is highlighting their plans for Sunday’s services.
The train operator is advising regular customers and foot ball fans that trains will be busier than usual, with fans from both teams heading to Hamp den Park.
First ScotRail is keen to ensure that football fans check pre and post match train times before travelling and allow sufficient time for their journey.
To help with the increase in the num ber of passengers, additional carriages will be added to se lected services between Glasgow Queen Street and Dundee, Elgin and Aberdeen, before and after the game.
Queuing systems will be in place be fore the game at Glasgow Central Station and at Mount Florida Sta tion after the final whistle has blown. Additional staff will be on hand to assist passengers.
A ban on the con sumption of alcohol will be in place on selected trains between Perth/Edin burgh to Glasgow Queen Street and services to Mount Florida from Glasgow Central Station.
Road travelling Saints fans are being warned to leave early for the semi-final, with roadworks likely to cause delays heading west. The 3pm kick-off will not be delayed.
Police have issued a major roadworks alert for the M8 between J14 Blochairn and J19 Charing Cross. Works will include a contraflow on the westbound carriageway between J17 Great Western Road and J14 Blochairn. Various on ramps will be closed.
