St Johnstone Player of the Year appeal

THE St Johnstone FC Business Club is canvassing members for their Player of the Year votes.

It’s hoped that the trophy will be presented to the winner at the last game of the season on Saturday.

The trophy is superb and last year, after a very close contest, it went to Martin Hardie. Who will be the winner for season 2007/08?

Please send postal votes to Stewart McKinnon c/o M & S Accountancy and Taxation, Dalgety House, Viewfield Terrace, Dunfermline, KY12 7HY

Alternatively just e-mail your vote to Stewart at stewart@msactax.co.uk.

WITH Scotland’s World Cup campaign starting in September, Tennent's have launched a new online campaign, Virtual Hampden, where the Tartan Army can show their support by leaving messages backing the team on one of the Virtual Hampden seats.

The messages will be delivered to manager George Burley and his squad ahead of the campaign start date.

Fans should look up www.tennents.com/football to grab a seat next to a celebrity or current player and leave words of encouragement for the team ahead of the Macedonia match.

A Tennent’s spokesman said: “Let’s get Virtual Hampden full ahead of the big kick off.

“Loads of benefits are to be had by signing up to the campaign as there are some excellent prizes on offer.

“These will include a trip for two to Macedonia for the opening match as well as signed merchandise and the chance to be the fan who delivers the thousands of messages to members of the squad.”
