DEREK McINNES yesterday revealed that star striker Andy Jackson is still in hospital.
And he's hoping a specialist will get to the root of the mystery ailment which has left the anxious youngster receiving pain killing medication at Stirling Royal.
The highly rated forward missed the weekend awards night at the Dunkeld Road supporters club, where he should have been presented with a series of accolades from admiring fans after a magnificent 19-goal campaign.
He was also marked down to collect the St Johnstone FC Business Club player of the year accolade before the Livi game.
Jackson is still being closely monitored after being forced out of last Wednesday's defeat at Stirling by a frozen calf.
The striker was in agony as he was being ferried by ambulance to hospital.
McInnes said: "I went to see Andy over the weekend and took in various player of the year trophies.
“He was resting but that should be a boost.
"We are a bit worried because he is still in pain. But hopefully the specialist will get to the root of the problem and Andy will soon be on the mend."
A YOUNG Saints side lost 2-0 to Clyde in the semi-final of the Reserve League Cup on Sunday.
Willie McLaren, the winger released by Derek McInnes earlier in the season, featured for the opposition.
