‘Other national drink’ search for top St Johntone WAGS

SCOTTISH Football League sponsors IRN-BRU are launching a nationwide search for the country’s best REAL WAGS – and their top two will bag a well deserved night with their football heroes at the Phenomenal SFL Awards Dinner.

The league sponsors are keen to get female fans to fly the flag for St Johnstone.

WAGS have become an everyday part of British life, with public interest in footballers’ wives and girlfriends soaring.

Pages upon pages of tabloid stories of WAGS outings to only most expensive and exclusive shops in the UK have become top-selling news stories in national newspapers and television.

Thankfully, IRN-BRU is going to rectify the situation focusing on genuine female football fans with the launch of their REAL WAGS campaign.

REAL WAGS are fans first, wives or girlfriends second.

They are the hundreds of women who travel the length and breadth of Scotland supporting their SFL club come rain or shine, win, lose or draw.

IRN-BRU are going to find Scotland’s top two dedicated REAL FANS WAGS and invite them to their lavish End of Season Awards.

Those who think they are up to the challenge and ready to represent St Johnstone in the competition are invited to register online at http://www.realwags.com/, to upload a picture of themselves and answer a simple questions about being a fan, including:

∙ Detailing their most Phenomenal game and why

∙ Funniest thing they’ve seen, heard or done at or en route to a SFL match?

∙ Biggest sacrifice they’ve made for their club

∙ Any pre-match rituals?

∙ What are their best fan qualities?

Martin Steele, Brand Manager for IRN-BRU commented: “WAGS have been giving genuine female fans a bad name in football.

But there are hundreds of genuine female supporters out there and this is a chance for them to be rewarded for their dedication and commitment to their team.

“IRN-BRU has enjoyed a successful first season as proud sponsors of the Scottish Football League and by launching our search for REAL FANS WAGS we are celebrating genuine female supporters.”
