Saints fans are on the march for charities

SUPPORT is growing for the “Massive Blue and White Army” sponsored walk planned for McDiarmid Park on January 10.

On Tuesday, the PA flagged-up the fundraiser dreamt-up by fans on the Weareperth website.

They are teaming-up with the football club for a walk which will generate cash for Saints, the PRI Macmillan Palliative Care Unit appeal and the Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society.

Saints have a free weekend on January 10 and fans, family and friends are being encouraged to turn out and support the cause.

Depending on weather conditions on the day, part of the walk could be inside the stadium.

A website supporter, tagged Ginger Baker, said: “The £4million Macmillan appeal has enjoyed a great deal of support within the community and real progress is being made.

“PADS has been around for a long time and many dogs and local people have benefited from their work.

“It doesn’t matter if walkers raise £5 or £500, taking part promises to be great fun, especially with so many Saintees participating. We might even get a chorus or two of Saints songs going.”

Fans taking in tomorrow’s clash with Clyde can collect sponsorship forms from the McDiarmid Park ticket office from 2-3pm.

Saints are also sending out sponsorship forms if they get the walker’s name, address and a contact telephone number.
