St Johnstone 1
Livingston 0
COLLIN Samuel gave St Johnstone breathing room in a closely fought match against Livingston at McDiarmin Park.
After just being on the park for two minutes, the Trinidad and Tobago striker made his mark on 68 minutes with some excellent control and powerful finishing.
Livingston started the first half brightly but struggled to find the net with chances from David Winters and Tony McParland both hitting the woodwork.
Saints' Derek Holmes also had a shot at goal, but failed to find the back of the net.
Into the second half and St Johnstone were feeling the Lion’s pressure as McParland tried hard with two efforts, but failed to hit the target.
The introduction of Collin Samuel on 68 minutes changed the game around in St Johnstone’s favour. The striker chested down a chip from Chris Millar and hit it home.
However, it wasn't all good news for Saints, with 21-year-old striker Andy Jackson coming off the park with a suspected Achilles tear. The player collapsed off the ball, and potentially will be sidelined for a number of weeks.
