Saints close in on the title

FOLLOWING victory at Dunfermline, Saints find themselves on the cusp of winning promotion.

Should Morton and Partick draw and St Johnstone subsequently win on Sunday, it's almost impossible to envisage them not playing in the SPL next term.

Saints host a Queen of the South side with whom they've drawn three times this season but it’s a fixture which traditionally favours the home team. Only twice in the pair's last 16 meetings has the away side left in possession of three points and on both occasions, it was St Johnstone who were celebrating.

St Johnstone's run of one defeat in 27 league matches has powered them to the top of the table, although 14 have been drawn.

Not surprisingly, Betfred's 8/13 price for them to secure a tenth home league win has attracted considerable support, although bet365's generous-looking 11/4 posted against the draw has also been well backed by nervier punters.

Elsewhere, Coral offer 5/4 against St Johnstone leading at 45 minutes, while Stan James post 7/5 against them maintaining their dominance in the second period and being in front at the end of both halves.

Punters may be persuaded by the Blue Square's 5/4 chalked against the opening period ending in stalemate.

In Betdaq's handicap market, St Johnstone are 6/4 to win when kicking off with a one goal deficit.
