Strokeplay successes

TWO Perth and Kinross players featured in the top 10 of the Seniors Scottish Open Amateur Strokeplay held at Elgin Golf Club.

Derek Murphy, from Kinross, tied in fifth place on 13 over par after rounds of 73, 77 and 70. The middle round hiccup cost him a top three slot, with Bob Stewart, of Tulliallan, taking the trophy with a nine over tally.

Brian Grieve, playing out of King James VI, enjoyed a joint seventh finish on 14 over with cards of 74, 74 and 73 over the parkland course.
