First ace is just the business

SCONE businessman Jim Mathieson savoured his first hole-in-one to secure a competition win at Murrayshall Golf Club.

The 11-handicapper was partnered by local doctor Lenny Burnett, in the Murrayshall Guest Invitational, when he aced his 170-yard tee-shot at the 18th.

The pinpoint six-iron shot proved to be vital as the pair were tied with county cap Steven Hume and his partner on 63, but won courtesy of a better inward half, despite their rivals’ eagle two at the par five15th.

Jim and Lenny were playing with Donald Houston and Kelvin Bristol.
