Scotland team is named for Muirfield

PERTHSHIRE trio Wallace Booth, Glenn Campbell and Gavin Dear were yesterday named in the Scotland team for amateur golf’s home internationals at Muirfield.

Scottish strokeplay champion Booth, who plays out of Comrie, and Blairgowrie’s Campbell – who’ll be making his sixth home internationals appearance – will provide valuable experience in a youthful 11-man line-up, along with the newly-crowned national amateur champion Callum Macaulay.

Murrayshall player Gavin Dear receives his call-up to the Scottish side, which includes four debutants, as reward for an excellent season thus far.

After landing the Raymond Trophy in 2006 and 2007, the Scots will be bidding for a hat-trick of titles in the September 3-5 competition at the exclusive Open course on the East Lothian coast.
