Open Mid-Am spot for Perthshire’s Alexandra

PERTHSHIRE’S Alexandra Bushby qualified for the match-play stages of the English Women’s Open Mid-Amateur Championship at Wallasey.
Alex made it all the way into the semi-finals of the 25-and-over event, losing out to Warwickshire’s Charlotte Dalton.
The Big County player won her first match against Welsh internationalist Laura Collin by one hole, then dumped Stephanie Evans (Vale of Llangollen) by the same margin.
In the quarter-final she defeated Kate Whitmore (Sandiway) by one hole and notched an eagle two on the 267-yard sixth in the semi before going down 4 and 3.
