Midland Golfers’ Alliance in full swing

THIS week’s Midland Golfers’ Alliance was held at a sunny Muckhart Golf Club.

Best scratch score of the day was Brian Mason (P, Drumoig) with a two under par, 69.

The handicap was a three-way tie between Lee Bushby (Strathmore, 6), Chris Westland (Alloa, 11) and, for the second week in a row, James Milne (Drumoig, 10)

Leading scratch scores were: 69 – B. Mason (P. Drumoig). 70 – S. Thomson (AP, Kirkcaldy). 71 – C. Mathewson (AP, Falkirk Tryst).

72 – D. McKay (P, Wellsgreen), S. Rettie (P, All Swing Golf). 73 – G. Finlay (Ballumbie Castle, +1). 74 – S, O’Donnell (AP, Balbirnie Park). 76 – M. Niven (Dunfermline, 4), L. Bushby (Strathmore, 6).

Leading handicap scores: 70 – L. Bushby (Strathmore, 6), C. Westland (Alloa, 11), James Milne (Drumoig, 10). 72 – M. Niven (Dunfermline, 4), R. Barton (Alloa, 8).

73 – K. Thompson (Alloa, 13), C. Myles Monifieth,6). 74 – G. Finlay (Ballumbie Castle, +1)

Qualifiers for the Midland Golfer’s Alliance Championship in April at Pitlochry: B. Mason (P, Drumoig), S.. Thomson (AP, Kirkcaldy), Mathewson (AP, Falkirk Tryst).

The next meeting is at Forfar Golf Club on Wednesday, September 19, at 9am.
