Ladies lose out on their UK title bid

PERTH and Kinross Ladies lost out in their bid for the national title.

The team, minus Curtis Cup star Carly Booth who was competing in the Junior Ryder Cup in the USA, lost out narrowly, 5-4, to winners Fife on the final day.

Fiona Ramsay was drafted in as a replacement.

They bounced back from a disappointing 7-2 opening game defeat from Renfrewshire.

But fired up by the setback, the Big County trounced the Borders 8-1.

The team generated £1286.90 at a Strathmore golfathon to pay their way to the national finals.

Top points scorer was Annabel Niven, who secured 4.5 points out of five.
