A TEAM flying the flag for the Scottish Liqueur Centre at Bankfoot saw off opposition from home and abroad to capture the prestigious R.T. Jones Memorial Trust Trophy at St Andrews.
Auchterarder Golf Club member Kenny McKay led the Columba Creamers to victory in the shotgun stableford competition played over the windswept Old Course.
He was joined by Auchterarder colleague Graham Lowson, the former Scottish Amateur champion, and Blairgowrie member Gordon Bannerman.
The trio posted 50 points, to take the trophy by a single point. It was presented by Sir Michael Bonallack, the former secretary of the R and A and a World Golf Hall of Fame member.
The biennial tournament is organised by the R.T. Memorial Trust, with support from the R and A and the St Andrews Links Trust. Teams from the UK, Ireland and America participated and included the Scottish Liqueur Centre and the Edrington Group.
Money raised from the event supports scholarship ties between St Andrews University and Emory University in Georgia.
