IN a bold move, King James VI will throw open its doors to golfers of all ages and standards completely free of charge.
The Island's first ever Open Day will take place on Sunday, June 28 from noon onwards, when all visitors can play a full and complimentary round.
Captain Ray Smethurst explained: “We've set the Open Day up as close as possible to the time of year that offers maximum daylight – so we are looking forward to as many Perth folk as possible taking advantage of our offer.
“We'll welcome all golfers and we hope they enjoy our course, which has been approaching its very best condition ever.
“There will be a free prize draw for all participants, with a top prize of a free club membership going to the winner.
“There will be other side events and thanks to our sponsor, Belhaven Best, the players will be able to partake of a free pint of ‘Best’ after their round.”
To book a tee time for the Open Day golfers should call club pro Allan Knox on Perth 632460. Tee times start from noon until the light gives way!
