Crieff progress to regional final of Magners championships

THE Crieff team toasted progress after hosting the Central Regional final for the Magners Scottish Golf Clubs Championship.

And Aberfeldy are also in contention for the grand prize.

Forty-one teams rolled-up at well-presented Crieff, from as far afield as St Boswells in the Borders to Tobermory Golf Club from the Isle of Mull.

They all faced the tough uphill par 3 first to get their round underway.

The event was played off the Medal tees measuring almost 6,500 yards, and with no run on the course it was a tough challenge for all the players.

The top six pairs will now compete in the Grand Final at the Roxburghe Golf Course on Monday, October 12.

In first place was the St Andrews Golf Club, edging out Glenrothes.

Aberfeldy duo David Carr and Gregor Carr were third with a 68 and Crieff pair Craig White and Herbert Dreier were fifth on 69.
