Golfer Derek Murphy wins his place at Senior Home International

KINROSS golfer Derek Murphy has been selected for the Scottish seniors side making for County Mayo and the Senior Home Internationals being hosted at Westport Golf Club later this month.

Top 10 finishes in the Central, West and North Senior Opens brought him onto the radar.

And he secured his place in the squad despite an early exit from the Scottish Matchplay

Scotland’s seniors last claimed the Home International title on home soil at Dunbar back in 2006, which marked their maiden victory in the tournament. England have won the title three times.

Northern’s George Paterson rounded off the 2009 domestic season in style by lifting this year’s SGU Seniors Order of Merit title after his top ten finish at the Seniors Order of Merit Finals Day at Blairgowrie’s Lansdowne course.
