Pitlochry course a hidden gem

PITLOCHRY Golf Course is celebrating another accolade.

Golf World, the country’s leading golf magazine, has named the Highland Perthshire course on its list of “Hidden Gems” in the UK and Ireland.

Every year the magazine compiles its list of top 100 and 200 courses on these shores.

This time, it has also pinpointed 66 of their favourite courses which, for varying reasons, don't quite enjoy the profile they deserve.

Their “Hidden Gems” include 15 from Scotland with Pitlochry, Perthshire's only representative on the list, being described as a well-established course with stunning views that allow golfers to “drink in the views of the Tummel Valley while playing in the shadow of Ben Y Vrackie.”

Inclusion in this list recognises that Pitlochry and the others warrant more exposure and recognition.

This season marks the 102nd anniversary of a Willie Fernie designed course and for the first time ever buggies will be available to allow golfers, young and old, to enjoy playing one of Scotland's best kept golfing secrets.

Pitlochry Golf are offering three-day golf breaks this year for only £89. These take place from April 17-19, May 8-10 and September 4-6.

Their ever-popular Golf Week is from June 11-17, teeing-up a mix of golf and entertainment which is second to none.

Entries are now be being taken for The Ladies Highland Open from July 4-9 and the Gents Highland Open from August 7-12.
