RYDER Cup skipper Colin Montgomerie is ready to pass on professional’s tips to an army of amateur golfers.
The Perthshire-based European Tour star has joined golfacdaemyTV, a new video concept of golf coaching aimed at improving the amateur game via the web.
Along with Monty, members of the site will also hear from world-renowned coaches, including David Leadbetter.
In addition to tutoring the swing, experts focus on mental strength and biomechanics, showing how amateurs can improve all aspects of their game.
Each week, Monty will provide a new video tip helping members lower their handicap.
He said: “I really appreciate the philosophy behind a global concept aimed at helping amateur players improve their game.
“I have seen many things that approach the technical side of the game; however other aspects such as the mental and strategic side of the game are often ignored.
“Most amateur golfers think golf is all about technique but it’s much more than that.
“The idea of supporting the golfer through an innovative, clear and structured website covering all aspects of the game is very appealing.
“Everything is done in an extremely simple, friendly and spontaneous way.
“We shoot our videos without any trickery involved so the viewer feels they are having a personal one-on-one golf lesson.
“Unlike a DVD or a book the web isn’t fixed and you can always update it. Access to appropriate information is almost immediate and content is updated on a regular basis. Depending on the success of the website, anything is possible.
“The topic of golf is endless with new tips, tools and strategies coming up all the time, I’m sure there will be some nice surprises from the big names in golf for members of golfacademytv very soon.”
