New man for Gleneagles pro team

THE Gleneagles Hotel has added another top class golfing talent to their existing team.

Alan Beattie – pictured – has been appointed as a PGA professional at the PGA National Academy based at the Ryder Cup 2014 venue.

With his wealth of experience within the golf industry, Alan was a natural choice to join the talented team.

He began his career as a club professional before moving into full-time coaching. Alan then gained experience within a golf operations and retail role before joining Worldwide Sporting Publications in a sales and marketing position.

His wealth of experience combined with his commercial expertise makes him a valuable and well-rounded addition to the team.

Alan’s main duties at Gleneagles will include coaching hotel residents, members and corporate guests. He will provide the full range of Academy services including tournament administration, custom-fitting and golf clinics.

Alan (32) said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at the Academy at what is an exciting time for Gleneagles and golf in Scotland with the build up to the Ryder Cup.
